This story aired on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 on CBC Ottawa TV and Radio.

Ashley Burke (CBC) interviewed one of our parents, Colleen O'Reilly, who is currently in our KickStart program with her son Connor.

Families benefiting from the early intervention

"My son, he's a totally different boy," said Colleen O'Reilly, a single mother whose 2-year-old son, Connor, started the program in November.

"O'Reilly said her son had never spoken a word before."

"It's almost like he's opening his eyes to the world for the first time," said O'Reilly. "He's able to engage. He's able to play with toys. He's more aware of his environment and his surroundings. It's beautiful to be able to see him."

The good news is the number of children being referred to our KickStart program is increasing.  That means more children are being identified before 30 months of age!  As a registered charity who raises the funds for each child through donations, that means we need to increase our fundraising so every child referred can access our KickStart program.  The cost per child is $4,000 which is fully funded by QuickStart - Early Intevention for Autism.  There is no cost to the family.
